Glory of the Morning
This painting, entitled Glory of the Morning, is on display at the Luling Foundation. It was painted in 1926 by Dawson Dawson-Watson for the Edgar B. Davis Wildflower Art Contest. It won the $5,000 award, a huge amount at that time. Dawson-Watson (1864-1939) was a recognized American artist. He studied with Claude Monet in France and has been featured in numerous museum exhibits. Glory of the Morning is a shining example of Dawson-Watson's landscape art.
